really confusing times. (nets @ wiz)

im honestly so lost right now. 2 Ls in a row, against the lowly knicks and the upstart rockets. kidd is speculated to be off the team by february, rj is criticizing stuff, and the team is lost.

heres what i think. i think kidd actually did ditch his teammates. and if in fact he did, he should never play another minute for the team. trade him for picks or expiring contracts, i dont care. ditching your teammates is a serious offense, and even more serious for kidd because hes our captain. oh well, thorn will guide us through this mess.

well, we vs the wizards tonight, who are probably more banged up than us, but they’re playing well considering they dont have agent zero. rj needs to contain a hot caron butler, which doesnt mean have a frickin shootout with him. rj, i know u can score, but focus on D vs this guy, alright?

this is the nets chemistry right now:atomic.jpg

Nets Dominate Team LeBron (sans LeBron)…NYK TONIGHT.

we got a win to bring us back to .500 (9-9). but it was against the cavs, who didnt play with lebron. so that barely counts. now we got the crappy knicks coming to the ‘Zod.

the knicks have won 3 of their last 5, but the celtics loss is somewhere in there. you know, where they lost by almost 50 points? awesome. i read somewhere that eddy curry is injured, so thats good news for our big men. steph, i dunno whats up with him. condolences, man. sucks to lose your dad.

it also sucks to play for the knicks. you think Sports Illustrated regrets making the knicks the 6th team in the east and the nets 9th? haha wow. anyways, RJ is 4th in the league in scoring, just ahead of Carmelo. which is frickin sweet, also considering he’s scoring almost 8 more points then vince, who ranks in the mid-30s. good job rj.

well, lets hope we can destroy the knicks tonight. they can be scary when they play with chemistry, but that happens every night you can see pluto. just dont let crawford get into a groove either, cuz he’s a gunner.

cheers to ed stefanski! and his amazing scouting prowess.

Recaps for the Philly and Detroit games.

i sat right behind the nets bench during the philly game. one of the best experiences of my life. i actually felt apart of the team, i cheered for them when they were heading towards the bench, i yelled shouts of encouragement, all that stuff. it was good times.

anyway, the actual game itself was a mess. typical nets 1st half. typical nets 2nd half. pretty much sums it up. vc and rj came up clutch, and jkidd kept them in it with his, wait, dare i say it, 3 point shooting. good thing we got the win, but, its the frickin 76ers. so whatever, i had fun watching while sitting behind elastic man the whole game.

ok, now, the pistons game. what the hell was that. our offense was rolling, but what happened to our defense. we couldnt get consecutive stops when we needed to. and doesnt LFrank pride himself on the defense he makes his team play? aw man, that was a mess. it just has to be that the pistons are just better in terms of talent. all their starters can shoot, compared to our 4 on 5 offense when collins is in. they play great man defense, compared to kidd struggling to defend kobe and pierce (which are purely mistakes on LFranks part, because RJ or Wright is our solid defensive stopper). we just got outplayed in every single category. horrible.

ill try uploading the pictures i have from the philly game later. wordpress is kinda loopy right now.

Showtime! nets defeat lakers 102-100

best win of the season? quite possibly. most thrilling? hell yes!

at the half, nets were down 12. and then boom. the nets answer with a 35 point third quarter while shooting a high percentage. the nets ended the quarter tied. into the fourth they went. going on an early 12-0 run, the nets looked comfortable leading by 12 with 4 minutes to go. antoine wright was handling kobe very well, players were hitting their shots, and the calls seemed to be going the nets way (for once). but, typical nets, they lost the lead with 1:30 to go. clear lane violation against the lakers led to 2 jefferson freebies, nachbar added two from the stripe, and vc added another two free throws! clutch free throw shooting by the nets? well, thankfully, kobe couldnt say that about himself last night. trailing 3, kobe had a chance to tie with 3 fts. he missed the last one, which sent nacbaar to the line to seal the game. missed the second one. so back to playing defense for 3 seconds. wright and kidd handle kobe, and rj perfectly defends the ugly vladimir radmanovic 3 pointer. endgame.

i saw some real beautiful things last night. well first off, that sean williams dunk was amazing. when he caught it and took off, i assumed he would lay it up, but nope. he defies gravity and dunks it!!!

antoine wright had an excellent game defensively, which made up for his 2-8 shooting and 0-3 from downtown. LFrank made a wrong decision to switch kidd and wright, making kidd guard kobe. kobe immediately fired off two 3s, and got the 3 free throws, where he bailed kidd out by missing the 3rd one. wright deserved to guard kobe in the waning minutes, and maybe we would’ve avoided that whole meltdown.

for the first time since the first game of the season, i felt comfortable with the 7 or 8 man rotation that we had in the final quarter. LFrank was doing great getting boki, seanWill, wright, boone, and allen playing time. and they really showed up. allen hit some early jumpers to spread the defense, so he did his job. if this is an early sign of our rotation, make note that magloire, and collins are the odd men out. then add krstic and we have some serious big guys that are going to battle for playing time.

umm…is kidd really all-defense 1st team? fisher went 8-10, for 20 points. and kidd let kobe go ape-nuts in the last 4 minutes. andadd in those 8 turnovers…i think he’s putting too much pressure on himself, cause at times things looked forced from him. he’ll get better though, especially with VC coming into form.

Memphis tommorow, look for a big offensive night from the nets, as the grizz are just horrible on D.

***Marcus Williams should start practicing this week. but eddie gill is playing really well too. should be interesting.

***special shout out to the Hungarian nets fans at NBA1 Fórum.

our prayers out to Sean Taylor. hardest hitting safety, get well.

nets 6-7 @ LA Lakers 7-5

first of all, happy thanksgiving everybody. i had a very busy vacation, and i didnt have enough time to write anything. anyways, lets talk nets.

2 game win streak in 2 games that VC has played in. i think we have found a solution. the team is playing inspired, especially in the sonics game. well, we beat the two lottery winning teams from last year, now we face the daunting lakers. kobe is, well, being regular kobe. we just need to limit him, so RJ needs to have a good game defensively. sean williams didnt play all that much in the sonics game, where malik allen shined. well, heres some keys to the game, read up, netsfans.

Jason kidd almost became a laker at the trade deadline last year. all that was needed to trigger the trade was the addition of andrew bynum. and thank goodness the lakers didnt wanna let go of him.

RJ & VC vs Kobe & Odom- the lakers can cause hectic mismatches with the nets. expect to see some wright defense on kobe, as he guarded durant a lot on friday. vc doesnt have to be dominant for the nets to win, as we witnessed against the sonics.

annual thanksgiving road trip- a 2-2 road trip is better than a losing one. memphis after lakers, so theres a shot at a 4 game winning streak.

coaching- the zen master vs the high school graduate aka phil jackson vs lawrence frank. it’ll be a chess match between 2 great play drawers.

lets go nets!

Nets 4-6 @ Utah Jazz 7-4….Captain Kidd unhappy?

10 games into the season, and the captain is already frustrated. and he has every right to be mad. he claims his team gives up when they fall behind, and you know what, that actually looks to be the case. maybe the return of vc will lighten things up…nope, kidd says that they were losing even with him, so lets just pray kidd snaps out of this funk.

great defensive squad in Utah tonight, they also play fundamental basketball, the best in the game actually. jason kidd Jr. plays for them, deron williams if you dont know what i mean. jazz are in a 2 game slump themselves, and maybe the nets get inspired when they watch that vc buzzer beater against the jazz when watching game tape. block party with kirilinko and williams, and a real post presence in boozer. rj needs to get into a rhythm and pick up a huge scoring load againt Ak-47
hopefully, painful memories of last year will doom the jazz…then again, vc isnt even playing, so there goes hope #1.

a time for mourning…91-87, in favor of the miami heat.

well, this could possibly be one of the most heartbreaking game ive watched. we witnessed a first quarter jump out of the gate for the nets. we saw a 10 point lead turn into a 10 point deficit in the 2nd. the third was just such a rollercoaster ride, with a perfect ending to the quarter as boki hit an off-balance shot to pull within 2.

the final quarter was just as confusing. as i saw boki hit that jumper, i started jumping with excitement, because the usual team carries that momentum into the next quarter, and usually has a stretch of good basketball. well, the nets are not a usual team. we went almost 3 minutes without scoring a single point, as the heat went on a 6-0 run. kidd answered with a 3, but was silenced by a three from hardaway (more ranting about him later). final 4 minutes, im thinking, hey we can fight our way back into this. it was like a 9 point deficit. sean williams catches fire, hitting free throws and points in the paint. arrite, heres where things just get even crazier.

30 seconds left, down 2, and kidd starts to drive to his left. he draws collins’ man, which leaves the forward wide open. twin catches it, goes straight up, misses the shot, but is hacked by a couple of heat players (who know that if you have to foul somebody, hes the one to foul). so, big moment for jason collins. i start to think in my head, if you make this jason, i will never bash your shooting ever again. and he clanks both of them. just like that. but thankfully, wade misses both free throws (what?! i told you it gets crazier). timeout by LFrank. he draws up an efficient play for RJ, which i remember he used last year against the bulls for VC. everyone is in motion, while RJ posts his man and gets inside position in the paint. it works to perfecti….wait, yes, the layup is missed.

exactly how the night went for the men in white. opportunities were there, but they just weren’t taken advantage of. yes you can say haslem touched the rim (who cares?), you can say RJ got hit on the arm (before the shot, so, who cares?), or you can say mourning’s a big douche (arrite, i kinda agree with that.). but the bottom line is this. the nets shouldn’t have been in that position.

we should of came out of the half more fired up. we shouldnt have let the heat take the lead in the second. LFrank should’ve played some one else besides collins in the final 2 so we make those 2 free throws. this game really represents how our whole season has been so far: sluggish, sloppy, and inefficient.

lets start with the usual horrible-

26 turnovers. do i really have to say why that is important?

we actually had a higher fg% (47% to 41%) than them. odd right? the frickin turnovers just balanced all that out for the heat.

arrite here it is. anfernee frickin hardaway. i mean, really guys? 4-4 behind the arc (stupid jefferson play when he wasnt looking was just downright embarrassing.) , for 16 overall? we did a solid job on oneal, and wade was handled a bit, until the 4th. basically, their secondary players killed us. cook, hardaway, and the hated alonzo all showed up tonight, which contrasts from the entire nets bench of collins, boki, nenad, and the thrown-to-the-wolves eddie gill.

the great-

Sean “Elastic Man” Williams. 22-8-2 blocks. just an excellent game from the rook. playing with intensity and energy, he looked like the only truly motivated net.

on a funny note, “I would pay to watch Collins and ONeal have a free throw contest. I would pay. But I wouldn’t let my kids watch that, their not allowed.”

-Mark Jackson

just a bad day for nets fans everywhere.

really? 30% fg%?!?!?!….nets lose 95-70 to Orlando.

this is as ugly as it gets. this could possibly be the worst game i have seen from the nets. i mean, we had a 1st quarter with 10 points, and our fourth we scored 11. wtf?! no one was driving and kicking, everyone was settling for jumpers (hey kidd) and dwight was just his normal beasting. i know, i know, VC is out right now. but thats not an excuse to shoot 30% vs a team that is a good, NOT GREAT, defensive team. man, i dont know what to say, it was just the most frustrating game in recent memory. remember i said how this would be a really important game? well it looked like the nets just thought they could get a win by jacking up horrible shots. guess thats not our preferred style of play….

lets start with the horrible-

i guess LFranks move to start Boki kinda backfired. sure hedo shot 2-10, but look at the free throws, 8-8. elastic man (sean williams in case you live under a rock) should have started and everyone, including LFrank, knows that.

just to show how much of a blow out it was, we played 11 deep. meaning, our reserve reserves got some PT.

scoring. that princeton-like offense that was supposed to be run this year didnt look like it was helping us yesterday. the offense isnt even vince-centric, so why the hell are we getting horrible shots still?! even without vc, 30% is just unacceptable.

the (mildly) good-

89th trip double. i guess thats good for fantasy owners of jkidd. other than that, it was a waste of a triple double.

this game has to make another case to start seanWILL. hes getting better, and im really getting excited for the career hes gonna have. especially with kidd calling him “Rodman-esque” WOOHOO

ill add a preview later, if im not crying over this loss..

oh dennis, your the only one that understands…

magic (7-2) vs nets (4-4)…darrell armstrong injured

bad news for our pg situation. armstrong out for 2-4 weeks. this injury bug really sucks doesnt it. marcus williams could be back in two weeks, hopefully vc arrives soon too. this is just insult to injury, as we’re on a 3 game losing streak right now too. nothing seems like its going our way right now, with the orlando game looking scary, and a west coast trip looming. hopefully the team shows up inspired to bounce back from the boston debacle and is able to get into a rhythm early, especially rj. this is a very important game, because this starts a stretch where we vs 4 strong teams (orl, utah, portland, kobes) and face two should-wins but scary teams (miami, seattle)

what we need to win the game-

limit dwight howard. i remember last year, collins held him to a single point in one game, which is exactly what we need. hopefully elastic man plays heavy minutes again and gets some easy lobs from the captain.

PG play. jameer nelson had a good game on wednesday. kidd has to shut him down and abuse him on offense by posting up and executing an efficient offense.

rj vs rashard. lewis is averaging 20-5-3, which is decent compared to rj’s 26-6-3 because lewis just got a max contract. magic definately overpaid, but hey, theyre 7-2 and looking strong, so whos to complain.

rashard’s new crib
